Foreign investors will assist in constracting new district of Moscow

Foreign investors expressed interest in construction projects in Moscow's new district named Kurkino. Representatives of three foreign companies notably Donbassshakhtostroi in Ukraine, Hutny Stavby Ostrava in the Czech Republic and Mavrovo in Macedonia participated as observers in a meeting related to the projects. Moscow Deputy Mayor Vladimir Resin chaired the meeting in the Kurkino construction headquarters, RIA-Novosti reports. The development of Kurkino in Moscow's northwest was started last year. Instead of typified apartment blocks, original buildings will be erected there. Cottages and town houses will be built along with apartment blocks. Foreign and Russian companies will bid the January 15 tender for obtaining construction sites in Kurkino. "Large capabilities are needed for the projects, the amount of work is massive," Resin said. Over 209,000 square meters of housing will be built in Kurkino in 2001, over 407,000 square meters - in 2002 and 303,500 square meters -in 2003.
